FAQs

What Does Seymour Johnson 4-H Home Educators Offer?

SJ4HHE offers a variety of after school activities including P.E., Co-Op classes, field trips, and social gatherings to supplement your homeschool.  We are partnered with Seymour Johnson Homeschool, an outreach homeschool community information group.  We are also partnered with 4-H, a youth organization whose mission is engaging youth to reach their full potential.

How Can I Sign Up To Participate?

All families wishing to join must go through an application process to ensure the safety of the children in the group.

To apply for membership, please fill out the online application form HERE or click the John SJ4HHE tab above.

You will also need to read the Seymour Johnson 4-H Home Educators By-Laws HERE

Additionally, since SJ4HHE is a 4-H group, each family must create a 4-H online account HERE and update it annually.

Do I Have To Be Actively Homeschooling To Join?

To receive the full benefit of SJ4HHE-sponsored programs, it is recommended that each family be actively homeschooling in North Carolina at least one child that is 5 years of age or older.

If your homeschool is not yet registered, click HERE  to submit to the NC Div. of NonPublic Education a Notice of Intent to Homeschool.  NOTE: Those with their oldest child aged 5-6 are not required to have a homeschool as NC compulsory education age is 7.

Do I Have To Be Military To Join?

SJ4HHE is an inclusive 4-H homeschool group!  Military affiliation is NOT required to join nor to participate in SJ4HHE-sponsored programs.

A few times a year, SJ4HHE may be invited by the SJAFB School Liaison to enjoy homeschool-friendly activities on base.  When this happens, we will strive to offer group sponsorship when possible for those who are in need.

Can I Drop My Child Off? Do I Have To Stay For SJ4HHE Events and Activities?

SJ4HHE is a parent-powered organization.  You are responsible for each member of your family as well as all guests you bring to any SJ4HHE-sponsored event or activity.  Generally, drop offs are not permitted except for certain pre-approved circumstances and only if another attending parent has accepted responsibility for your child(ren).
